Tutora — The Four Stars

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Tutora mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service") provided by The Four Stars ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the Service.

2. Account Registration

You may create an account using Google Sign-In, email/password, or use the Service anonymously as a guest. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3. Description of Service

Tutora is an AI-powered writing assistant that provides text rephrasing, grammar correction, and reply generation features. The Service uses artificial intelligence to process and transform text you submit. Results are generated by AI and may not always be accurate, complete, or appropriate for your intended use.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Generate spam, phishing content, or fraudulent communications
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits, subscription restrictions, or security measures
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access or interact with the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Violate any applicable local, national, or international law

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of all text, images, and other content you submit to the Service ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process it solely for the purpose of providing the Service. You are solely responsible for your User Content and represent that you have the right to submit it.

6. AI-Generated Output

Output generated by the Service ("Generated Content") is provided "as is." You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and using Generated Content. The Company makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, suitability, or legality of Generated Content. You assume all risk associated with your use of Generated Content.

7. Subscriptions & Payments

The Service offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and are subject to their respective terms.

  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  • You may manage or cancel your subscription through your device's app store settings.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their refund policies.
  • We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing with reasonable notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.

8. Free Tier & Usage Limits

Free-tier users are subject to daily or monthly usage limits on text processing requests. We reserve the right to modify these limits at any time. Exceeding limits may require upgrading to a paid subscription.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, features, branding, logos, and documentation, is owned by The Four Stars and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use our trademarks, trade names, or branding without prior written consent.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE FOUR STARS AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The Four Stars and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. You may terminate your account at any time by using the "Delete Account" feature in the app. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, and we may delete your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

14. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without prior notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time by posting the updated version on this page. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after revised Terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of the changes.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which The Four Stars is established, without regard to conflict of law principles.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
